VOLUNTEER AT THE ISLAND MARKET PLACE! |
| |
 |
What is the IMP? The Island Market Place (IMP) is a "Fun-Key Place to Shop" located at mile
marker 101 bay side in Key Largo. They are open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Filled with eclectic vendors, from jewelry repair to word carving artisans, it is
also the local Farmer's Market, bringing in over 3/4's of its produce from local farms.
Keys to Peace has had a booth in the IMP since December of 2010 and we're really
proud of how it's grown over the past year and a half. From only a half side of books and a handful of items for sale,
we now have 10 book shelves with hundreds of books, magazines and CD's on all topics and dozens of neat goodies to purchase
for donations of an average of $5.
We sell our signature
Peace Flags, T-shirts, necklaces and jute bags, as well as peace-sign necklaces, bracelets, earrings and wallets. And, our
inventory is growing all the time!
And, you can check
out books, whether you are local or live just up the road and only visit once a month. If you just can't live without
a certain book, we just ask for a donation for it.
Come
and see our booth---this wonderful oasis of peace in the midst of the market. And volunteer a little of your time! |
|
| Volunteer Today! Is service one of your goals in life? Then think about
helping out with the only current Keys to Peace brick and mortar location! Do you like to read? There are hundreds of books in the
booth's lending library. Like interacting with people and networking? Many Floridians visit the Keys on the off months, i.e., not
like the regular season when we are inundated with "snowbirds". Since the market is only open Friday through Sunday, you may meet
quite a few folks who are spending the just weekend and who've driven down from St
Petersburg and Jacksonville rather than those who have flown in for the season from Michigan and New York. Some of the regular market vendors
are heading out too, so be sure to get your hours in before (say) the Amish Deli heads back home to Ohio. Think about the next step in your life.
Is it about service? Is it about donating your time? Think about donating that little extra time you have to 2 to 4 hours of volunteer
service, once a week, at a terrific location. And, feel good about yourself doing it! Reply to this email with your choice of hours
and days (Fri, Sat or Sun, 9AM - 1PM or 1 - 5PM or anything in between!) |
